How does the game work?

The game is divided into various levels where the player gets to learn a key concept in each gameplay.
These concepts are:

1. Starting up
2. Fundraising
3. Culture
4. As real as it gets

As the player progresses the complexity increases and it becomes tougher with each level up. At the last stage all the previous levels are combined into one gameplay. This makes the game as real as running a startup. Each level will have options on which startup to play like an electric scooter company or a tech firm. New companies will be made available to play every 4 months. Each game has difficulty options of Easy, Hard and Real.

Why a game?

The best vantage point to see how a startup grows is to look at it through the eyes of a founder. This is difficult to understand under a classroom setting as we fail to imagine the context and uncertainty facing a founder. This can be done within a simulation game where the user gets to be the founder of a company and experience the ups and downs of starting up. This environment helps the user to experiment, fail and make decisions which defines the outcome of the startup.

Meet our Team

Heribert Thomas, co-founder

After finishing his MBA Heribert started a consulting firm which focused on building strategy, systems and improving sales within companies. Most of his clients were startups and with time the consulting firm started co-founding with startups which wanted to work together long term. This helped him work closely with founders and see their journeys up close. One of these startups was a tech firm whose founder was Shahbaz Khan.

After completing his Computer Engineering Shahbaz joined IBM. After 3 years here one of his friends asked him to help out with his startup. What started off as a side gig turned out to be so enjoyable that Shahbaz left IBM to join this company as their CTO. He ended up working as the CTO in 5 firms along with starting a tech firm called TuringMac. He wanted to use tech to provide an opportunity to others to experience working in startups like he did and the idea of Zero2A resonated with him. So he moved from TuringMac to build this game based course.

Kapil Patwardhan, Content

Kapil studied Sports Management but once he started working he realized that his true calling was in writing. So he started writing as a sports journalist for Indian Express and later for SportsKeeda. Kapil is one of those individuals who loves animals more than people. He wanted to do something to improve the conditions of these animals who didn't have any help. So he founded Floof, a company which sells merchandise for pet lovers and uses the proceeds to feed strays and rescue dogs. Kapil is in charge of all content at Zero2A.
